Your Intuition is Your Superpower!

Have you ever experienced this gut feeling that tells you what to do and the relief you felt when you followed it?  This feeling is your inner voice, your intuition that can be a thought or a sensation in your body that is guiding you to do what is best for you. Why do some people hear it more clearly while others don’t?
Your inner intuition can also be described as part of your survival instinct to keep you save. We all have an inner navigation that helps us to make the right choices or decisions. Some may hear it more clearly than others.

How can I hear my intuition?

Everyone has a sense of intuition, and it is accompanying you for your entire life. It’s mission is to protect and guide you in the right direction. You may hear or feel its messages loud and clear or only subtle.

Remember a time in the past when you had a thought or a feeling of the right step you needed to take. Then try to remember the outcome when you followed the inner voice and times when you didn’t follow it. Can you see the difference in outcomes when you followed your inner voice, your intuition and those outcomes when you ignored it? If you had more success when you followed your intuition you may want to pay more attention to it.

When you pay more attention and do this daily, you will develop this “knowing” and your actions will become clearer, more decisive and goal directed.

Why can’t I tune into my intuition for guidance?

There are a few things that make it difficult to tune into your intuition. Those could be overthinking, thinking of what you should do, seeking approval by others, or when you really want something. To get through those obstacles, you need to become self-aware, listen to your body, and examine your beliefs and values.

One way to become more intuitive is by practising self-love. Once you love yourself you will develop trust in yourself and your inner voice. If you feel your intuition wants you to do something that seems scary for you to act on, then keep returning to self-love. When you trust your inner knowing there will be no situation you can’t overcome. You are strong enough to do anything your intuition calls you to do.

Self-love is the key to tune into your intuition

Learn to love yourself without judging yourself and without any limitations. Accept yourself fully as you are! This sounds hard for many of us as we are in a world where we hear or learn from others to judge or to criticise others if they do not fit the norm. All negative emotions including anger and judgement are learned from others and are based on the emotion of fear. To truly love yourself let go of fear and learn to accept and trust yourself regardless of what other people think about you.

So, learn to trust yourself and treat yourself with love and acceptance for who you are. Be honest to yourself and learn to love yourself as if you love your best friends. Be your authentic self in all aspects of your life.

 Being your authentic self helps you to truly be self-aware and reflective of your wants and needs. When you are authentic, you will not act from a place of ‘shoulds.’ Instead you act from a place of your values. These values dictate your perspective, leading your intuition to keep those values in place.

 When you are true to yourself you know that no matter what happens, you’ve always got your back. You will be amazed how calm and relaxed and confident you will become.

To hear and follow your inner voice, your intuition, you will need to stop caring what other people think about you. Ask yourself the question: “How can anyone make the right decision for me if they don’t know my past experiences and my current state in life? “

The neurobiology of intuition and the science that studies it says: “that it (intuition) is more important than ever now…..not only is there a neurological foundation to intuition, but it also involves your past experiences, your personality, and your subconscious, or the place that contains the essence of who you are.” Exploring your mind

This also brings to light that we cannot compare ourselves to others as we all have different experiences and upbringings. Do what feels right for you and not what anyone else thinks or does.  Silence the outside voices and listen within.

 To tune in to your intuition effectively you need to be present, calm and relaxed. Trying to tune in when you are in fear or stress will be more difficult as your mind will be too busy processing disturbing thoughts.

Self-reflection and Meditation can help you to reach the present state as it allows you to calm the voices within and the messages from your intuition will come into your mind more clearly. Take some time out during the day and seek some solitude in nature or at home.

How do I know that my intuition is speaking and not my own thought?

You will know the difference when the message coming through is neutral with no emotions attached to it. Intuition is usually coming though when you are present and have trust in yourself. It can be a thought that is surprising to you. You may react to this thought with a negative emotion, but your intuition, the initial message itself is neutral.

Your intuition can reveal many kinds of truths that may not only guide you to make a decision in the present moment, but it can also give you insights into the future.

With practicing self love, being your authentic self and trusting yourself you will be amazed how your intuition can become your best friend, your super power.
