Why is it important to keep following your Dreams?

When we get older and realise how hard it is to achieve something that we want in life we get scared and unmotivated. We start second guessing our capabilities and fear failure.

Fear is one of the biggest obstacles in following your dreams.

When we have challenges in life and fear failure we tend to do what we always have done as it seems easier and less scary than to do something new.

Often we also think changing and trying something new that would bring us closer to our dreams requires time or we simply think it is not the right time now. If you think like that you will always delay actions as there will never be the perfect time than now.

We also tend to listen to others and when we are criticised or challenged by others in following our dreams we often give up to fit in and have approval from others. Many of you may know the concept of the “Tall poppy syndrome”.

Follow your dream and not others. This is your life!

Now here are some reasons why you should connect and take action on following your dreams. But before you read this you may want to take some quiet time out and think about your dreams. What would you like to achieve or have in life? This is very important to do and should be your first step.

When you start thinking about your dreams you connect with your inner self and set a plan to put your actions into motion. If your dream is big enough and you realise that it is worth pursuing you will overcome any challenges. Every little action counts and with every step taken you will feel more motivated to achieve that dream.

When you follow your dreams and work hard it will give you a purpose in life, which keeps you in a positive frame of mind. Any set backs will be easier to overcome as you have a purpose that you follow. Your determination to succeed with your dream will inspire others around you to follow their dreams. This is important when you raise a family.

When you have a dream big enough you will learn how to overcome fear and objections. Many people in our society may face leaving their jobs and start something new right now. This is the time to sit down and think about your dreams and your passions.

Face your fears and follow your dreams. “Everything you want is on the other side of fear”. Jack Canfield.

Facing your fears and taking action will help you to grow and realise your self worth. When you focus on your dreams and goals your energy will flow in that direction and you soon will notice that opportunities are opening up for you.

Now make it your challenge to write down your dreams. Review them daily and visualise that the dreams have already come true. The body and mind connection is very powerful. So create the feeling while visualising that you achieved your dreams. When you do this regularly you will see that your life will take a different direction - towards your dreams. The Power is in You.
